One of my favorite things about the internet is that you can read newspaper issues from many years in the past. So I thought I would take a look at what happened in Paul’s hometown of Evanston, Illinois on the day he blessed the world with his birth. I was hoping to stumble across something interesting to share with everyone here today, and thus you understand my frustration in finding that every local and city newspaper for March 15, 1980 had the same front-page headline: ‘Unusually large, hairy baby born.’

It's customary that the best man's speech contains a history lesson involving some major event that took place on the groom's birthday. Well, for those of you that don't know, Paul's birthday is on July 4th. Now, I'm no historian but I did find one event that took place on that day - US independence. And, on a related note, July 27th is the day Paul lost his independence.
